Michael Davitt Museum

On Wednesday we took a trip to the Michael Davitt Museum in Straide, Co Mayo to learn all about Michael Davitt one of Ireland's greatest patriots. The boys were shown a short audio visual presentation on the life and achievements of Michael Davitt and then enjoyed a guided tour of the Land League Exhibition. We also visited Michael Davitt's grave and his baptismal font. We had a great mornig and thanks to all the lovely staff who made the visit so interesting!

Happy Pancake Tuesday!

We had lots of fun making pancakes in class on Tuesday! It was great to hear so many boys went home and made pancakes themselves! Well done!

Young Scientist Exhibition

This week the boys entered the schools first Young Scientist Exhibition which was organised by Mr. Barrett. They worked really hard on gathering all their research, presenting their evidence, making predictions and designing their experiments. A small selection of their work is attached below and we were delighted that 8 projects were selected for the final judging next Tuesday morning!

The Little Shop of Horrors

On Tuesday we were delighted to have attended the famous broad-way rock musical " Little Shop Of Horrors" in the T.F. Theatre. The production was performed by St. Gerald's College alongside the girls from St. Joseph's. It told the funny and scary story of a florist who grew a plant that fed on humans! The boys really enjoyed the music and the acting was fantastic. Well done to all involved!

Trip to Davitt College

Last Friday both 6th classes took a trip to Davitt College for a morning of science and experimenting in the computer labs! The boys got to take part in a wide range of activities and we all had a really enjoyable morning!
